In some of my Missionary Work, i.e,

– promoting the use of Philips “Warm Glow” LED Bulbs, or

– the use of 400% efficient Chinese Ductless DC Inverter Heat Pumps

there is a clear savings of a factor of 7 or 4, respectively, in Energy-Usage and Cost.

On the other-other hand, I love to burn candles. As one can see in Table I., the light from Candles is about 3000 times more expensive than the light from an LED bulb …

So, hopefully these numbers [data] will be sufficiently stark to prevent you from ever even considering lighting another Candle.

And, if I haven’t convinced you, and you were to never-the-less engage in this barbaric practice of lighting a candle [shit, why not go all the way and burn whale blubber], I will just have to leave it up to you to deal with all the Cognitive Dissonance you’ll experience. We won’t even get into issues regarding the environment, indoor air-quality, renew-ability, or Global Warming, let alone all the safety considerations (e.g. I live in a well-seasoned cedar-sided [inside and out] home with wood framing and often drink flammable 100-proof bourbon at night while burning candles on a wooden table).

I just ordered 50 more from Amazon.

I can only wonder how large of a hit my Social Credit Rating Score took with that single purchase, from Amazon no less, not even taking into account the implications of their packaging and having them shipped to my door.
