Putting together the messaging from our constellation of media authorities -- assuming you haven't figured out that they're already put together -- over the past ten years or so, the overarching theme seems to be: don't trust your institutions.

Our elections are rigged. Media personalities now get caught lying with the same impunity previously only afforded to politicians.

"Oh, those silly rascals, always lying. But I've got to vote for one of them," has become "voting makes no difference whatsoever; I guess I'll just go to work and watch television every day until I die."

Didn't a fella named Yuri describe something like this back in the eighties?
