This is what I see from my front porch (took this picture yesterday).
Here in Brown County, Wild Turkey bow hunting season begins this Friday, 01 Oct ‘21, and 20 Oct for shotguns. I’m going to use a bow.
This will be the first time I have ever hunted, though I don’t think it will be much of a “hunt”.
I’m going to enjoy free-range organic turkey this thanksgiving or Christmas.
Maybe others can also learn new skills (e.g., learning to look at DATA, and discerning the difference between “numbers” and DATA, and religion and Science).
Yeah, so most hunters need to first buy a license, then go scouting, and then hopefully go out that one day and get a turkey. This is my MY land (yeah, right read: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/52341/hamatreya by Ralph Waldo Emmerson)
so, I can just sit in my guest bedroom, nice and comfy, and shoot one out the window w/o a license.
Of course, for them, the enjoyment is mostly being out in the wilderness and away from their normal world. The wilderness is also my joy, and I think I'm doing a pretty good job preserving it for the animals that live here, and whoever might live here when I'm gone.
