Post-Ultimate Post on the Climate Apocalypse Narrative

Postscript. I think I'm done now.

So, I put on my Don Quixote Hat and using some DATA attacked the Climate Crisis Narrative Windmill.

And I suppose what I did was “Propaganda” — trying to influence beliefs about the Climate Crisis, and even how to look at the world. Or, perhaps, more accurately, it is Anti-Propaganda: I am trying to get people to become Apostates and begin to dis-believe accepted Dogma that they have believed for a long time, maybe their entire lives, that is not based upon science, and even disagrees with DATA, but are rather based upon Censorship, Propaganda and Group Think:

• Anti-Propaganda: Use DATA to show many of Climate Narrative Stories don’t agree with DATA.

• Propaganda: Argue for Science (as opposed to the Follow-the-Science Religion).

• Anti-Propaganda: Show how real DATA can be used and analyzed to disprove many of the fundamental stories in the Climate Religion, e.g.,

  • the DATA show temperature leads CO2, rather than vice-versa.

  • the DATA show that temperature variations in this century have been insignificant.

  • There are no alarming DATA; only alarming Stories.

• Propaganda: Argue for the Belief and Faith in REAL SCIENCE (Based upon DATA).

Yes, I’m trying to convince you of a Story, one that disagrees with your present stories. And, I think my Story is based upon DATA. And data is the bedrock of Science. And it would be hard to argue that science has not useful. Certainly more useful for than Inquisitions, Imprimaturs, Censorship, and government-, corpocracy-, and MSM-disseminated military-grade propaganda.

And I think I’m done now. I think I squeezed most of the big-and-easy things that I can from the Vostok Ice Core Data:

• A 92% correlation between the Milankovitch Cycles in the Time Period from about 5,000 years to a 1,000,000 (million) years.

• Clear signals showing that Temperature leads CO2, not vice-versa.

  • “On Average” an 800 year delay; but

  • 15,000 year delay when the earth is cooling,

  • and <1,000 years when the earth is heating up.

• Data showing changes on a 100 year time cycle appear to be random.

• The 100 year data also show that the change in temperature over the last century (0.14 standard deviations) is insignificant.

There surely still are many interesting things to find in the Vostok data, but probably not many more quick easy big things.

And there is LOTS I don’t know about what causes temperature changes on the 100 to a few thousand year time-scale. There is:

• Certainly the activity of the Sun. Both luminescent power and non-photonic power (charged particle flux).

• There are the magnetic fields of the earth and sun which affect shielding from non-photonic radiation (which affects, for example, cloud formation).

• Is there “Space Weather” that is significant?

And do I think I’ll spend a whole bunch of time on this? Probably not — probably not many easy and quick DATA to slay any big windmill narratives there. That would be real nitty-gritty put-your-nose-to-the-grindstone and generate-good-real-hard-replicable-DATA science as Hays et al. did (i.e. BORING Alan Krisch [U.M.] sort of work). I think the easiest fun stuff has been done.

On the other-other hand, I just thought of a fun thing to look at. Beginning a few million years ago, the Earth entered into a period of Milankovitch-Cycle-induced Ice Ages, and today the Earth is in Ice Ages about 80 - 90% of the time. Are there maybe enough good data from the Mud Cores and Ice-Cores to make a reasonable prediction on when the Earth will always be in an Ice Age?

And I wonder, did I even get a single person to begin to question their beliefs about the Climate Crisis? If so, let me know.
