I live with a wolf in the middle of the National Forest.
And I leave my doors open at night (and during the day if the sun is shining) for the fresh air, and so my wolf can go in and out as he pleases.
Living Off-Grid on Solar PV it is especially fun to leave the doors open in the Summer with the 400% efficient Chinese Ductless DC Inverter Heat Pumps ON so my house is cool, and have the doors open with a fresh breeze, and my batteries fully charged.
Like, Total Hedonism at its finest !
OK, so I get the few squirrels, snakes, and of course mice in my house.
And I have birds living in my house (in holes in the cedar siding).
But now, as I’m sitting on the porch, I see birds keep flying into my house carrying twigs and whatnot thinking they’re going to build a nest INSIDE my house.
Where do I draw the line ?
So, I keep a day-pack for mushroom gathering hung by the door. I grabbed it this last Saturday to go collect Chanterelles -- and inside of it, besides my onion bags, was a nest with two eggs ...
I shut the doors. For the time being anyway.
