Went walking through the forest with Nashoba last night under the Full Moon. I could see perfectly and had no need for a flashlight; there are no leaves on the trees and the Moon is almost straight over head.
Look at the Moon at about midnight tonight; it will be almost straight over-head. Then look at the sun today at about noon — it will barely get above the trees in the distance.
The Moon (when it’s full) follows the trajectory of the Sun six months from now — So, the Path of the Full Moon is now the Path of the Sun at the Summer Solstice. The new Crescent Moon (which we shall see in 14.75 days) follows the present trajectory of the Sun.
So, in the next two weeks, by watching the Moon, you can see how the path of the Sun across the sky varies for the entire year !
When we get to the Equinox, the path of the Sun in the sky and the path of the Full Moon will be exactly the same !
Actually, at the Equinox, the Moon's path in the sky will follow the Sun's path in the sky, whether it is a full moon or new moon.
