You’ve all heard the Fictional Story of the Prince and Pauper. Here’s a non-fictional story.
Once upon a time there was a house cat named Mouser, and a barn cat named Cat. And they lived in the country. One of the nice things about living in the country is that the humans not only didn’t lock their doors, they left them open day and night so that the cats and dogs could go in or out as they pleased, and so too could the birds (building nests inside), snakes, mice (raising large families, like, where are the cats when you really need them) squirrels, etc.
So, anyway, one day the house human named Tim came home from work and Cat (the barn cat) was living inside, and Mouser (the house cat) was no place to be seen (she had moved to the barn).
And then one day a week or so later, Tim (the house human) came home, and Mouser (the house cat) was back in the house and Cat (the barn cat) was back in the barn.
And they all lived happily ever after.
The End.
p.s. All the animals were especially happy to be allowed into the house without having to wear muzzles.
