Censorship in Science
How can we all agree about what is “right”, if we allow questioning?
Well, we can probably all admit that there is Censorship[1] in the realms of News, Politics, and CoVid-1984, but Censorship of Scientific Information? Certainly NOT you would think. Well, assuming CoVid-1984 isn’t science but religion, what about Science, in particular, that other religion, Climate Science?
I first became aware of Climate Science Censorship by YouTube and Google when I’d send a YouTube link that questioned Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) to someone, and later found it had been removed for some “violation” of Copyright or Community Standards.
For example, there is a Nobel physicist that I think is pretty funny (maybe as funny as Feynman) – Ivar Giaever. From Wikipedia: Giaever has repeatedly professed skepticism of global warming, calling it a "new religion”. On 13 September 2011, Giaever resigned from the American Physical Society over its official position. The APS Fellow noted: "In the APS it is ok to discuss whether the mass of the proton changes over time and how a multi-universe behaves, but the evidence of global warming is incontrovertible?"
Giaever calls AGW a “Pseudoscience” and gave a couple of talks about this at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. I would send someone a YouTube video link for one of his Lindau talks, and just a few weeks later, find that video had been removed. So, I’d search for a new link to a video of his talk, and again, within a few weeks, that video too would have been removed from YouTube (so, these talks must be pretty good, Huh?) In footnote[2] I give some working non-YouTube links to his talks that shouldn’t disappear (though I now always download videos I want to keep, and so should you!).
But the Censorship of information questioning the AGW Narrative is more extreme than you might even believe: No one would believe that The Democrat U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on the Climate Crisis would demand that Google demonetize climate skeptics, and provide education to millions of people who have been exposed to “dangerous misinformation”, would they? It’s very important that we all agree about certain things. Censorship by our Government, Google, YouTube and our “Free Press” is therefore very important. Wait, our “Free Press”???
Well, this next Tidbit is from Australia where the “University of Melbourne ‘Centre for Advancing Journalism’ academic Denis Muller believes climate censorship should be added to legally binding journalistic professional codes of conduct”, and “the editor of The Conversation, Misha Ketchell, declared The Conversation’s editorial team in Australia was henceforth taking what he called a “zero-tolerance” approach to climate change deniers and sceptics. Their comments would be blocked and their accounts locked.”:
We like to believe (the first plank in our Propaganda) that WE have a Free Press and THEY have Propaganda and Censorship. But, if Galileo were to come back today, I’m sure he’d find our Free Press, Government, and Scientific and Educational Institutions to be just about the same as the Catholic Church that branded the heliocentric solar system as Heresy. Perhaps only the names have changed. Today we don’t call people questioning the Narratives “Heretics”, but rather “Deniers”, “Skeptics”, “Conspiracy Theorists” or perhaps “Nazis”, or just plain crazy !
So, you can continue to sleep peacefully knowing that Big Tech, Your Government and the “Free Press” are all diligently working 365 24/7 to protect you from any information which might cause you to question any “correct beliefs”, or Narratives, that have been given to you by your politicians, “educational” institutions, and the free press.
