As an independent scientist (physicist), I applaud the students suing I.U. (my Ph.D. Alma Mater) for their vaccination mandate. This is a tribute to our schools, as their protest makes me think that at least some of our kids are learning to be critical thinkers, not merely followers of Authority (one of the most important fundamental criteria for a democracy). Consequently, our students should certainly hold their Administrators and Teachers to their same high standard. Some questions they could be asking are:
There are now massive quantities of DATA from different states and countries with varying degrees of masking, anti-social-distancing and lock-down mandates. Can you please present clear DATA proving the effectiveness of masking? If not, then why are you mandating masks? (Hint 1: Biophysics professor and Nobel Prize recipient Michael Levitt, one of the original signatories of the “Great Barrington Declaration” recently Tweeted, “Can anyone show clear correlation between NPI or other restrictions & reduced COVID-19 cases anywhere? I keep trying & failing.” Hint 2: Of the 14 Randomized Control Trials (gold standard) three suggest, but do not provide any statistically significant evidence, that masks might be useful; the other eleven suggest that masks are either useless or actually counterproductive).
So, say a student “tests positive”. What does that mean? Which test was used? Even Mr. Fauci himself said over a year ago regarding the PCR test: “if you get a cycle threshold of 35 or more, that the chances of it being replication competent are minuscule.” And yet, even as of last December, the CDC standard was 40 – 45 cycles, guaranteeing over 99% false positives. Can you prove the student has CoVid, not a Corona Virus common cold or the flu, or is even really “sick”?
Can you prove with DATA that CoVid is any more of a threat to young folk than has been the Seasonal Flu? If not, are we then going to wear masks forever and demand that students also get the Flu shot? (Fraudulent PCR-test “Cases” don’t count). (Hint: CDC numbers show that more people under the age of 18 died of influenza during the 8-month 2018–19 “flu season” than have died of Covid-19 in more than 18 months).
Is it true that many more young people are committing suicide than dying of CoVid? Is it possible that lock-downs, masking, and anti-social distancing have exacerbated this problem?
Can you list in order the top 10 causes of death and serious injury for young people today in the U.S., and specifically in Indiana and at I.U.? Does CoVid even show up on this list? Why are you not prioritizing your concern on the leading causes of death and serious injury for your students?
And since CoVid is such an immeasurably small cause of harm to the your students, can you prove with DATA that the vaccine is even less harmful?
If the I.U. Administration cannot answer these questions with DATA, then they are merely followers of Authorities, which is not a very good example to set for our young folks. That is, they are BELIEVERS in the “Follow-the-Science” Religion (Faith in Models, Stories and Experts), rather than practicing real science (with skepticism, Testing Models with DATA). Our “centers of “higher learning” should be basing their decisions on real science, rather than promoting “group-think” and Narratives.
