So, there’s this poem, “When I get Old” by Jenny Joseph. So, like, when she gets old she shall wear purple and the poem ends with
“But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me
are not too shocked and surprised,
When suddenly I am old
and start to wear purple!”1
Well, I decided, now being bald, 65, and retired, to start acting more CRAZY, even if I don’t wear Purple, so that when I get really old, people don’t think I’m crazy. So, I dropped off a bag of garbage today (2$/bag) at the local garbage place, and walked in (I love this place, never has anyone in there ever worn a mask) and walked in with my 200$ Made-in-China guitar and told them “I just dropped off a bag a garbage, and I’m not paying. Instead I will play a song for you” (and think of all the money that saved them — they didn’t have to drive all the way into town, and drop 2$ in my guitar case, and drive all the way back) and just played them a only part of a song (Part of the Plan, by Dan Fogelberg,
in double-drop-D-Tuning with a capo on the 5th Fret).
And they said they wouldn’t call the cops or chase after me.
I wonder how many times I can get away with that ?
Now, how to turn it up to 11?
