Follow-up on the "The Follow-the-Science" Religion I

Masking and Lock-Downs

I wrote about the Dawn of a New Religion, namely the “Follow-the-Science” Religion, over a year ago. Unfortunately, many claiming to “Follow-the-Science” have no conception of what science really is. So, here’s a brief primmer:

Science is the practice of NOT BELIEVING any hypothesis (e.g., story, model, Narrative, dogma), or person (e.g., Clergy, High Priest, Politician, or Scientist), but rather repeatedly and independently TESTING an hypothesis with experiment, and then comparing the results of the experiments (DATA) with the model. Only after the hypothesis has been repeatedly tested will a scientist give limited and qualified credence to the hypothesis.

Let’s look at a few dogmas or beliefs in the “Follow-the-Science” Religion with regard to the MSM Hyped-Hysteria CoVid-1984 Mass-Psychosis Fear-Pandemic:

Mask-Wearing:

• Dogma (Religion):

  • Re Fauci: Don’t wear a mask; Wear a Mask; Wear Two Masks

  • Re Dr. Robert Redfield, who directed the CDC until just a year ago in September 2020 described masks as “the most powerful public health tool we have”, and claimed they offered “more Covid protection than vaccines would”, and stated: “If we [wore masks] for 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks, we’d bring this pandemic under control.”

• Science (Comparing Narratives with Reality):

  • A review of Randomized Control Trials, RCT’s, the gold standard in medical research, (https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article) concluded “evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.” This was all known before CoVid; in addition, early in the pandemic, was the Danish masking RCT specific to CoVid (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33205991/) that stated “the difference observed was not statistically significant”.

  • And heck, another Substack author, Ian Miller, has actually spent time doing science: i.e., comparing the outcomes between jurisdictions that required and practiced masking compared to those who didn’t, and even wrote the book about it: Unmasked: The Global Failure of COVID Mask Mandates.

I do Science. To demonstrate the “religion” of mask-wearing, besides not wearing one, I instead wear an organic heirloom garlic bulb around my neck. When people ask, I tell them that I am a scientist, and the science shows wearing a garlic bulb is at least as effective as wearing a mask¹,², e.g., zero evidence of efficacy.

Lock-Downs

• Dogma:

  • “2 weeks to flatten the curve”

  • Trudeau: Something like, “We need to take away your freedoms so that in the future you can have freedom”.

  • Biden: “If your exercising personal freedom puts someone else in jeopardy, their health in jeopardy, I don’t consider that freedom,” Biden sarcastically stated in response, before telling people who don’t want to continue wearing masks or getting jabs to “think of the children.”

• Science (i.e., comparing reality to models):

  As with Muzzles, there was never any science to support Lock-Downs. And, as with Muzzles, the real science (e.g., comparing Locked-Down jurisdictions with free or non-Lock-Downed jurisdictions) prove they had little if any effect, e.g.:

  But, worse than have no effect on the “pandemic”, they have caused very serious economic, sociological, educational, health and psychological problems, especially for children, that may last for generations, e.g.:

  • Covid lockdown: Children as young as eight self-harming, doctor says

  • Lockdown: 'Children behind in speech and understanding'

  • Not to mention all the economic impacts, which further enriched the large corporations and most wealthy at the expense of small business and the middle and lower classes.

I conjecture that studies will continue to prove that Muzzling and Lockdowns were not only ineffective, but caused enormous death and suffering, especially for our children. If you complied with (supported) these disaterous mandates, you might consider becoming a bit less “Woke” and a bit more Awakened.

1. The science is still unclear as to whether wearing two garlic bulbs in more effective than wearing a single garlic bulb.

2. Recently I travelled in the warmer FREE states of Florida and Texas where there is no point in wearing my garlic bulbs — masks are a rarity and there is no one to “witness” to!
