Aside from those college years as a libertarian, I spent most of my adult life holding conservative political beliefs. Israel was never a particularly interesting subject and, so, my thoughts around it were formed by conservative thought leaders -- those who I respected -- and I believed that Israel represented an enlightened Western place among backward third world societies. Boy was I wrong. Gaza really is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our generation. There's no excuse for this. It's just flagrant genocide.
And I really made a New Year's Resolution to stop focusing on all this crap over which I have no control, and focus on deer in my yard, playing my guitar, and writing fiction.
I'm with you... except for the deer... and the guitar. Now, which of a half-dozen half-finished manuscripts to inch forward; that is the question for this morning...
