They say, with things on the Internet, “If it’s free, then you are the Product”. Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc. make money by tracking you in real space and on the Interweb, reading your E-Mails, targeting adds for you, selling your information, etc. Oh, and Censoring your writings and what you might see from others.
Substack is different. Substack offers freely available non-censored information from many good writers (e.g., Glen Greenwald, Matt Taibbi, and Seymour Hersh to name a few) with no advertisements1. So, how do they make their money? They are very upfront with their business model:
Anyone can publish their work on Substack for free, as I have been doing for over 2 years, and people can read it for free. Yep, maybe not the best business model. But wait! There’s more!
Authors can charge a subscription for people to read their Postings, and Substack takes a small (10%) cut. For a more in-depth description of the Substack business model see here.
I recently saw this article: Substack Asks Writers For Money As VC Funding Freezes. So, I signed up to send them a chunk of money — I’d like to not only see Substack succeed, but perhaps replace the Propaganda-Mainstream-Media for many people. I certainly don’t want to see it bought out by Google. And so I’m going to end my 2.5 years of Freeloading by offering all my trillions of readers (me and Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk) the opportunity of supporting Substack by changing to being a paid subscriber. I hate to do this, and think I should be paying people to read my Postings, but, that’s not how it works.2
Hey, it’s not so bad — at least I won’t clog up your E-Mail account. As shown in Fig. 1 below (here you get DATA, not Narrative), you will only get 6 +/- 4 E-Mails per month, not 100 +/- 99 per day like you get from Steve Kirsch and Robert Malone, and neither of those folks I think need any money, though Sustack does3.
Fig. 1. Postings per month on Dr. TimE., Apostate. The Orange line is the average (6 +/- 4). The Blue line (best fit) shows that there will be only negative postings beginning Oct ‘23. However, a recent yet-unpublished model by the Imperial College of London proves that by Oct ‘23 there will be 100’s of Thousands of postings per month, and that 100’s of Millions of people will die from reading them.
But Wait! There’s More!
I will be starting two additional channels, and paid subscribers will have access to them:
Physics Comic Book — You’ll get a page/week from a Physics Comic Book I wrote suitable for ages from 4 to 104. You’ll learn about Relativity; Radiation; even perhaps Photons, Fermions and Bosons, Leptons and Hadrons (including Mesons), and who knows, maybe even a bit about Radons, Freons, Futons, Wagons, Leprechauns, and Morons. I hope some day to have it illustrated.
Robot Science Fiction Book — I’ll send out a short (1 - 2 page) “Chapter” per week. Maybe someday I’ll organize the Chapters into a stand-alone book or two … but I’ve calculated that there are over 10^100 permutations of the Chapters, and have yet to identify the best one.
At least I think that is the case — if anyone ever receives any unsolicited SPAM from Substack please let me know and I will make a Big Fuss!
Your contributions will probably never pay for my “investment” in Substack, but perhaps maybe a little bit towards a new Linux laptop.
Just how bad must things be at Substack? Their editor shows that “Substack” is a misspelled word!
As of 02 April '23, I see that over 7 M$ has been pledged by over 6,000 people so support Sustack.
Of course, please don't send me a donation until you have paid your cable bill so you can continue to get MSNBC

And I hope you have sent in your donation to NPR (I keep forgetting -- is that Narrative Promotion Radio, or National Propaganda Radio ?)
